UMass Amherst

2022 – Current

As director of content, I’m editor-in-chief for campus-wide marketing communications—with primary responsibility for planning, capturing, and articulating the on-brand stories that bring UMass Amherst to life; coordinating the channels through which those stories are told; and ensuring execution at the highest level. I oversee unique, compelling, and consistent content creation for multi-channel usage that supports and advances the mission and objectives of the university. While my deep institutional knowledge reflects commitment and longevity, I’m consistently surprised and inspired by the earnest and good work of students and faculty. This allows me to approach my work with fresh eyes while benefitting from years of experience and connection.

UMass Amherst College of Humanities & Fine Arts

2013 –2022

Served as director of marketing and communications for a college that’s home to 14 departments focused on literature, identity, performance, philosophy, language, design, practice, craft—essentially, the things that make us human. Driven as a passionate advocate for the arts and humanities, I led messaging and outreach, successfully promoted events, and shepherded the campus brand. One of my first initiatives was to design, build, and maintain a network of more than 25 websites that served the diverse needs of departments, programs, centers, and institutes. As the college’s central content creator, I produced multimedia packages, wrote human interest stories, profiled individuals, and designed graphics, posters, and webpages—all shared across multiple channels and adapted for unique audiences.

The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts

2009 – 2013

Telling the story of a mission-driven, charitable organization means telling the stories of the people it serves. I sought to sensitively and authentically share the often stark experiences of individuals and families facing food insecurity across four counties in western Massachusetts, without losing sight of their humanity, dignity, and hope.

The Valley Advocate and Preview MA Magazine

2007 – 2011

Through investigative cover stories, think pieces, blogs, and a monthly dining column, I earned my chops as a writer, learned to work under a deadline, and realized the importance of fact checking and asking the right questions.

Etc.

Outside of work, I’m active in independent music and art communities and proud mom to a seven-year-old whiz kid. In western Massachusetts—a region populated by writers, artists, growers, and makers—I’ve cultivated a wide network of reliable, impressive, smart, funny, and sincere creative professionals, including copywriters, photographers, designers, illustrators, animators, sound engineers, film producers, musicians, and everyone in between.
